Down to the Bones is a project deconstructing horror. That could mean a film, a show, a piece of writing, even a podcast. Why do this? Because most people don’t give horror a chance. They don’t allow it to be something more. Horror is an incredibly capable genre and allows possibility where other genres offer restrictions.
Briefly about me: I am a horror geek. If you want to talk horror with me, it will go on for hours. My goal for the project is this: breakdown some of my favs, introduce my readers to horror stuff they may not know exists, and maybe get some discussion started. This will mostly be about films that I love, but might also be a place to purge if I’m just really confused about a piece. This is about high art – let’s get downright literary, y’all.
I solemnly swear that you will never ever ever see the following discussed on this blog:
CW-esque supernatural teen romance.
American Horror Story (any season).
The Paranormal Activity franchise (well, anything after that first movie. Might save that one for a rainy day).
This project will span all years and all mediums. If you’d like to make a request, please do! Fill out the form on my Contact page. If I dig it, I’ll write about it.
Thanks for reading.
